Once the decision has been made, cyan, magenta and yellow ink cartridges are available in addition to the black ink cartridges.

Colours

Products are often labelled "CMYK", which stands forcyan,magenta,yellow,key. Key stands for black and, unlike other models, this standard colour model in printing technology works with subtractive colour mixing. This means that the colours are created by the light source and also by the fact that colour components of the light are either absorbed or reflected.

Toner

Toner cartridges also ensure that colour is applied to the sheet or label. In this case, the content is not liquid, but a dry and fine powder, which unfolds its effect on the final medium when heated. Toner or toner cartridges can sometimes be very complex and vary greatly from device to device.

Colour ribbon

Thermal transfer printing requires ink ribbons, which, as the name suggests, are ink carriers. During the printing process, the ribbon/foil is heated and melted, whereupon the label paper is printed.

Platen Roller
